Job Description

At Laboratorios Borinquen, we are seeking a highly motivated, responsible, and quality-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with laboratory analytical techniques, equipment operation, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This position is key to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the analyses performed in our daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples using standardized protocols.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (pH meters, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, etc.).
• Accurately record and document test results.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and SOP procedures.
• Calibrate, clean, and properly store laboratory instruments.
• Report anomalies, out-of-specification results, and discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Maintain an organized laboratory and comply with biosafety standards and good laboratory practices.
• Support internal and external audits as required.

Requirements

• Technical degree or associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a chemical or clinical laboratory.
• Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, GMP, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
• Knowledge of safety best practices for handling substances and waste.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency in basic computer tools (MS Office).

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Experience in quality control or microbiological analysis.
• Proactive mindset and orientation toward continuous improvement.
